Mali is mainly based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and its industrial base is weak. It is one of the least developed countries in the world announced by the United Nations. The rural population accounts for 68% of the total population, agricultural land accounts for 2% of the country's total area, and 80% of the labor force is working in agriculture.
